NYC Weekend

I just spent the weekend in NYC- does that make me a jet setter? 🙂

it was a business trip, but there was also much fun to be had!  I went with my friend and fellow jewelry artist, Ruthie, and spent the weekend with a fabulous tour guide and one of my best friends, Amy, who currently lives in Brooklyn.  we stayed in an apartment in the NYU neighborhood, which was within walking distance to Nolita, Soho, East Village, West Village, Greenwich Village, and Washington Square- we were feeling very lucky indeed!  here is what our view looked like from the 33rd floor-

Friday included a celebrity sighting at breakfast, two pairs of Miz Mooz shoes (and boots) for under a hundred dollars (yep, that’s right!), gem shopping in the jewelry district, delicious Belgian beers, Australian pies, bluegrass, and a rat!  we spent Saturday in Brooklyn, enjoying the Brooklyn Flea, eating massive amounts of chocolate, shopping for vintage, and enjoying delicious French appetizers, and a Farm dinner.  on Sunday, we continued exploring Manhattan- we had breakfast at the Noho Star, where I spoke to Lauren Hutton- oh yes, I did!  really, truly, that was the highlight of my weekend.  she is such an icon.  Monday was spent hunting for more gems- and we found them!  the treasures I found are beautiful.  it was a whirlwind of a weekend, but it was perfect, and I didn’t even experience any jet lag.

here are a few of my favorite pics from my trip-

  1. Lovely Day! They were my favorite for lunch when I worked in NoLita. I’m glad they opened back up. Their seared tuna over greens is so darn good.
